An Altering Role: Works by Cat Snapp and the Bump it Mafia will be on exhibit from Jan 9 - Feb 21, 2013.
The Bump it Mafia was created in response to the male-centric overtones in varying pockets of the
contemporary print world. The idea grew from a desire to see a powerful, audacious presence of women in
printmaking, both in academia and in the social realm.
Our objective is to create a network of intelligent, talented female artists that can serve as positive role
models for budding artists through a presence in exhibitions, trade portfolios, conferences, workshops and
other events that promote the growth of the print community.
The Bump It Mafia is a celebration of womanhood in printmaking and highlighting the importance of
camaraderie and community not just amongst women, but also amongst all artists of all backgrounds.
Snapp received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of North
Texas in 2012, and has exhibited work in group and solo exhibitions in
numerous museums and galleries.
Please join us for a lecture and reception on Feb. 21, 2013 from 5-7pm
